Restricted and Prohibited Items
Before purchasing or shipping items through Mama Parcel, please check with us to ensure that the items are eligible for import to your destination country. Each country has specific import restrictions, and it is the customer's responsibility to confirm compliance.
Prohibited Items
The following items are strictly prohibited and cannot be shipped through Mama Parcel:
- Passport, currency notes, and coins
- Bearer cheques, drafts, or negotiable instruments in bearer form
- Precious stones, semi-precious jewelry (imitation jewelry allowed with purchase bills)
- Arms, ammunition, explosives, and military equipment
- Firearms, flammable adhesives, and infectious substances
- Magnetized materials
- Radioactive or toxic substances
- Pornographic material
- Sodexo passes or equivalent
- Aerosols and acrylic paints
- Indian postal articles violating the Indian Postal Act of 1898
- Drugs, narcotics, and toxic chemicals
Restricted Items
Certain items may be allowed with restrictions based on the destination country and shipping regulations:
- Ayurvedic Medicines: Only powders, leham, jams, and liquids (up to 250ml per bottle, maximum 5 bottles per shipment). Capsules and tablets are not allowed.
- Allopathic Medicines: Only vitamin supplements in powder or liquid form (up to 250ml per bottle, maximum 5 bottles per shipment).
- Dairy Products: Items like ghee, chocolates, and milk powder may be allowed depending on the destination country. Please confirm with us before shipping.
- Homemade Food:
- To Australia: Not allowed. Only branded items with ISI certification are permitted.
- To Other Countries: Allowed with a minimum shelf life of 22 days.
- Oils: Allowed if branded with a manufacturing label (up to 250ml per bottle, maximum 5 bottles per shipment).
- Liquids and Semi-Liquids: Allowed under the following conditions: branded, labeled, and limited to 250ml per bottle (maximum 5 bottles per shipment). Examples include face wash, shampoo, rose water, and sauces.
- Perfumes Containing Alcohol: Not allowed.
Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials
Mama Parcel strictly prohibits the shipment of dangerous goods as defined by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). These include but are not limited to:
- Class 1: Explosives
- Class 2: Gases
- Class 3: Flammable liquids
- Class 4: Flammable solids
- Class 5: Oxidizers and organic peroxides
- Class 6: Toxic and infectious substances
- Class 7: Radioactive materials
- Class 8: Corrosives
- Class 9: Miscellaneous hazardous materials (e.g., magnetized items harmful to airplane equipment)

Additional Restricted Categories
The following materials are restricted and may require additional documentation, permits, or approvals:
- Acids, caustic substances, and combustibles
- Compressed gases
- Refrigerated or volatile items
- Poisonous or inflammable materials
- Machinery parts containing oil, grease, fuel, or batteries
Customer Responsibilities
- Compliance with Import and Export Laws: Customers are responsible for ensuring their shipments comply with the import/export regulations of both India and the destination country.
- Electronic Equipment: Customers must ensure that used electronic items comply with regulations and are free of sensitive data or software. Mama Parcel is not liable for data loss or software issues.
- Verification: Customers must verify that their shipments do not contain prohibited or restricted items before sending them to Mama Parcel's facility.
